Key Considerations for Braiding Machine Export

Braiding machine exports first need to consider the technical standards and certification requirements of the target market. The EU market requires CE certification, including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU. CE certification requires equipment to have comprehensive safety protection devices, such as emergency stop buttons, guard interlock devices, and electrical safety grounding. The US market needs to comply with OSHA standards and NFPA 79 electrical standards. In addition, some countries such as Russia require GOST-R certification, and the Middle East requires SASO certification. We recommend initiating the certification process at least 3 months before export to avoid affecting delivery schedules.

Voltage and frequency adaptation is another technical issue that requires focused attention. Power grid standards vary greatly around the world—China uses 380V/50Hz three-phase power, the US uses 460V/60Hz, Japan uses 200V/50Hz or 60Hz (different in East and West Japan), and most of Europe uses 400V/50Hz. Therefore, exported equipment needs to be configured with corresponding transformers and frequency converters according to the target market. We recommend completing voltage adaptation debugging before the equipment leaves the factory, and providing detailed electrical wiring diagrams and operation manuals in the local language.

Packaging and transportation are also parts of the export process that cannot be ignored. High-speed braiding machines are precision mechanical equipment that are susceptible to moisture and salt spray corrosion during long-distance sea transport. We recommend using vacuum aluminum foil packaging with desiccant, and laying moisture-proof film inside wooden crates. For large braiding machines, they need to be disassembled into modular components for transportation, with clear numbering and assembly instructions labeled on each module. At the same time, purchasing adequate transportation insurance is also a necessary measure to mitigate risks. Finally, establishing an overseas after-sales service network or cooperating with local agents to provide customers with timely technical support and spare parts supply is the key to winning the long-term trust of international customers.
